(August 14, 2020) Mr. Pijaya Nagavajra, Deputy Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) had a site visit to survey a route of tourist attractions along Chak Phra Canal – Bangkok Yai Canal – Bangkok Noi Canal in order to promote tourism of Thonburi area which include 5 districts, namely, Bangkok Noi District, Bangkok Yai District, Taling Chan District, Phasi Charoen District, and Thon Buri District, with total length of 18 kilometers.
Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, has a policy to promote tourism in driving Bangkok as the best global destination city. This 18-kilometer tourist attractions route is beautiful with unique places of civilization and distinctive arts and culture. Many Thai and foreign tourists may not have experienced this route before. This is an ancient route of Thonburi city that was once a capital of Thailand. The route has several tourist attractions and can also connect to Chao Phraya Sky Park as well as Ong Ang Canal and Yaowarat Road or China Town.
The BMA will compile information on problems and submit proposal to the Royal Thai Government for budget allocation to improve and develop tourist attractions along the route so that tourism promotion in Thonburi area can achieve its goals.
