Prepare to study approaches for development of bicycle lane to increase public safety for runners in Chatuchak Metro Park

Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, revealed that, as the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has implemented the project to improve the routes connecting 3 public parks, namely, Queen Sirikit Park, WachirabenchatatPark, and Chatuchak Park to be the Chatuchak Metro Park or Utthayan Suan Chatuchak in the form of metropolitan public park. This is to facilitate the public in accessing and using public park areas that are connected for recreational activities, exercise, tourism, photography, and family activities. The public park is also a source for study and research on nature for children, youths, students, university students, and the general public, to make use of their times.

To ensure safety and to facilitate the general public who come to the public park for walking and running, and other types of exercises, the BMA prepares to develop bicycle lane for those who enjoy and love cycling. Initially, all related BMA agencies such as Public Works Department, Environment Department, Traffic and Transportation Department, and Culture, Sports and Tourism Department are assigned to conduct a study on the type of bicycle lane that is safe and suitable for the physical condition of Chatuchak Metro Park or Utthayan Suan Chatuchak. At present, all agenciesconstantly accelerate the study and design of bicycle lane as well as the coordination with other related agencies to make bicycle lane in Chatuchak Metro Park become one of the options for exercise that the public can study and learn about nature at the same time.
