Office building announcement all under Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is a plastic and foam free waste area.

            Pol. Gen. Atsawin Khwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok agreed in the declaration of intent. “BMA is a leading organization to protect the environment commitment to reduce the use of plastic and foam with the BMA being a plastic and foam waste free area” which is in accordance with the resolution of the cabinet approved all agencies to reduce use of plastic bags and quitting the single-use disposable. Within 1 Jan 2020 by switching to a cloth bag instead by declaring the said intention, there are 5 important measures as follows 1) Requesting cooperation from all personnel of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Do not bring plastic bags and foam into all Bangkok office buildings. From 1 Jan 2020 onwards. 2) Every department under Bangkok Metropolis shall establish measures to raise awareness and promote participation in the implementation of the spirit of intention “BMA is a leading organization to protect the environment commitment to reduce the use of plastic and foam with the BMA being a plastic and foam waste free area”. 3) For all agencies under Bangkok Policy communication Promote, including motivation for personnel to comply with the announced intention “BMA is a leading organization to protect the environment commitment to reduce the use of plastic and foam with the BMA being a plastic and foam waste free area”. 4) Every department under Bangkok Metropolis requires restaurants to bring in groceries reduce / refrain from using plastic bags and foam 5) Please cooperate all personnel of the Bangkok office. Give advice to outsiders who come to contact the government and ask for cooperation. Do not bring plastic bags and foam into the building.

Bangkok Governor said the BMA has continuously implemented projects and activities for waste reduction and separation according to the Bangkok Development Plan each year. In the year 2020 increased clear measures and become more concrete by announcing intentions to allow the personnel of the Bangkok office to participate in demonstrating the power to drive waste reduction policies and is a prototype for other government agencies.
