During long holidays, everyone must strictly comply with preventive measures against COVID-19 pandemic

On 24th July 2020, Pol.Lt.Gen. Sopon Pisuttiwong, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, revealed that the meeting of the BMA’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (BMA-CCSA) discussed methods for relaxing the preventive and control measures against COVID-19 in the 6th phase which will soon be announced.  So as to stimulate the economy and relieve impact on the people and business operators, government agencies have duties to control and prevent the pandemic to be at the low rate by further expanding the coronavirus (COVID-19) testing operation to rapidly discover the infected persons. This will result in controlling the pandemic to not spread widely and quickly. In this connection, duties of the general public are to comply with control measures prescribed by the Government such as always wear face masks every time when leaving home, frequently wash hands with water and soap or alcohol-based hand sanitizer, as well as follow other measures specified by concerned government agencies.

Although local COVID-19 infection has not been found lately, the meeting strictly instructed all related agencies to stringently inspect and give advice to all the establishments and entertainment places such as pubs, bars, karaoke services, or other similar entertainment venues, especially during the long holidays which is the time when more people may increasingly visit these places than usual. Number of the establishments and frequency of inspection and giving advice must be increased. All of the entertainment places, business operators, and customers must be enjoined to strictly comply with the preventive and control measures against COVID-19 as the new normal standard for living (New Normal) in the future.
