BMC approves budget of 75,500 million Baht for fiscal year 2021

(September 3, 2020) Mr. Nirunde Praditkul, Chairman of Bangkok Metropolitan Council (BMC), revealed the consideration result of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s annual budget in the fiscal year 2021.

At the sitting of Bangkok Metropolitan Council today, the BMC resolved to approve the draft of BMA Ordinance on Annual Appropriations of Fiscal Year 2021 in the second and third agenda items with the amount of 75,500 million Baht. The BMA agencies who received the highest amount of budget are Public Works Department, Environment Department, and Drainage and Sewerage Departmentrespectively. Top 3 District Offices who got the highest budget allocation are Pathum Wan District Office, Nong ChokDistrict Office, and Lat Krabang District Office respectively and the district office with the lowest budget allocation is Samphanthawong District Office.

The BMC considered the annual budget based on efficiency and effectiveness, suitability with the current economic and social situation, and the utmost benefits for the public and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.

Chairman of the BMC said that the budgeting management was categorized into 7 aspects, namely, general administration, public cleaning and orderliness, public works and traffic system, drainage and sewerage and waste water treatment, social development and services, public health, and education. All the 7 aspects cover the administration of Bangkok Metropolis which will support the development of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to achieve the goal of being “Bangkok: Vibrant of Asia”, according to the 20-year Development Plan for Bangkok Metropolitan Administration(2013-2032).
