BMA participates in the 2020 drills on fire prevention and suppression in high-rise buildings

Mrs. Silapasuai Rawisaengsun, Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) revealed that the BMA and various agencies scheduled to have the 2020 drills on fire prevention and suppression in high-rise buildings during August 24 – 30, 2020. The drills are aimed at creating preparedness for fire prevention and suppression in high-rise buildings, having standard practical guideline, and having unity in incident prevention in the areas with economic significance and tourist attractions.

Details of the drills include responding to fire incident, searching for victims and survivors in high-rise buildings, responding to fire incidents in high-rise buildings using aircrafts, transporting, rescuing, and evacuating victims and survivors from high-rise buildings, medical services operation, establishment of unified Incident Command Center and management at the resource mobilization point and facilitation and traffic management at the scene.

Moreover, in order to prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), all participants must strictly comply with preventive measures and guidelines prescribed by the Government and take into consideration the safety while having the drills.
