BMA joins as one of 7 Thailand MICE cities, ready to drive MICE industry after COVID-19 crisis

(September 2, 2020) Mr. Kriangyos Sudlabha, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, participated in the “Thailand MICE United” event with the theme of “Hosting Events in Thailand, Proudly Help the Country” and ceremony to announce the new MICE city. The Deputy Governor was the representative of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to receive the logo of MICE city from Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister, who presided over of the ceremony.

Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB scheduled to organized the project called “Thailand MICE United” or “Hosting Events in Thailand, Proudly Help the Country” to revitalize MICE industry (MICE – Meetings, Incentives, Convention, Exhibitions) after the situation of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak affected Thailand’s economic activities severely in all sectors.  This event aims at driving and promoting the organizing of events all over the country which will boost economy for more trade, investment, employment and income distribution, and build confidence among the Thai MICE business operators to confidently operate their businesses.

Activities in this event include ceremony to announce the new MICE city and to present logo of MICE cities to 7 provinces, namely, Bangkok, Khon Kaen, Chiang Mai, Nakhon Ratchasima, Pattaya, Phuket and Songkla, special lectures and business negotiation activity.
